Brian Corban (CNZM, QSO, MA (Hons), LLB Dist. FIOD FNZIM)and Phillip Revell (BA./LLB) founded the law firm Corban Revell over 40 years ago.
Both shared a passion for creating a firm that would be a cornerstone of the local business community. Their firm grew and flourished through their hard work, dedication and tenacity.
Since leaving the firm both partners continued as mentors and consultants of the firm and still attend firm events.
Brian is a professional company chairman and director, businessman and community leader. He was appointed a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand in 2014. Brian is the Chair of the Graham Dingle Foundation, the Corban Estate Arts Centre, the Royal New Zealand Navy Museum, and a member of the Board of the Auckland Museum. Brian is also a former Waitangi Tribunal member and the former Chair of the Graeme Dingle Endowment Foundation.
Brian was made a Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to the community in the New Year’s Honours in 2009. He had previously been awarded the Queens Service Order for his public service to New Zealand Broadcasting as a former Chairman of Television New Zealand Limited and Deputy Chair of the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand Limited.
Phil Revell has recently retired as a key consultant of the firm’s litigation team and is still called on from time to time by lawyers within the firm for his vast depth of legal knowledge and experience.
